In 1987, CHANEL presented its first watch creation, the Première watch, designed for women by its Artistic Director at the time, Jacques Helleu. Choosing the octagon of the N°5 perfume cap for the dial, lacquering it black, borrowing its interwoven leather chain from the legendary quilted bag to make its bracelet, Première creates a surprise in a universe hitherto governed by the codes of traditional watchmaking.
In 2019, CHANEL imagined for the first time the strap of the Première watch in a velvet-touch version, whose flexibility is reminiscent of a ribbon. Inspired by the CHANEL wardrobe, it creates a couture look.
In 2023, CHANEL presents the Première Ruban watch in steel set with diamonds. While highlighting the intense black of the dial, this precious touch on the bezel affirms its sophisticated and feminine design.
