OLE LYNGGAARD 60 YEARS OF BRILLIANT CRAFTSMANSHIP

Ole Lynggaard

The 60th anniversary marks a milestone that celebrates the legacy of craftsmanship and creativity of the Danish jewelry brand Ole Lynggaard. It also marks the start of a year full of wonderful events and celebrations.

Ole Lynggaard is celebrating his 60th anniversary. The festivities are marked by an unparalleled celebration of art and fashion.

For example, there is the introduction of new jewelry in the Wild Rose and Love Band Collection, elegant celebrations are planned at the Hellerupvej family estate near Copenhagen, there will be an exhibition about their family story, and as a highlight of this extraordinary anniversary year, Charlotte Lynggaard and her daughter Sofia a collection of couture dresses.

ON THE MAP WORLDWIDE

Ole Lynggaard founded the company in 1963, after returning to Denmark from a world trip as a graduated goldsmith with his wife Karin – whom he met in Paris – with hundreds of handmade sketches and vibrant ideas.
Their love proved so strong that they decided to settle in Hellerup in the Danish countryside. Here Ole Lynggaard started his first studio under his own name, where he managed to produce the most beautiful jewelry using traditional methods. Inspired time and time again by his muse and now his wife Karin.

Since then, the jewelry house has brought to life a variety of timeless designs. The heart of the brand has since been formed by this passionate family dedicated to creativity, craftsmanship and jewelry design.

Ole's daughter, Charlotte Lynggaard, is designer and creative director of the brand, while his son, Soren Lynggaard, has taken on the role of CEO. Together they continue the Danish design tradition, together with the third generation Lynggaard.

In the meantime, the brand is successfully distributed worldwide and several flagship stores have been opened outside the home country, including in Paris and Sydney.

“It is special to see the brand transform and evolve like this,” says Charlotte. 'Since my father started the company in 1963, now 60 years later three generations are taking part in another world tour of the brand. We want to continue on this path and further develop Ole Lynggaard at our own pace. And I hope that in this strange world we can continue the beautiful forms of craftsmanship and pass it on to the next generation.'

“I am inspired by many things in my daily life: nature, art and the people around me. Nature is very important to me. Walking in the woods right in front of my house completely relaxes me – and it's the place where I feel my best. I'm also inspired by women – all women, young and old. Nowadays everything moves so fast. That's why it's so important to find a balance, to prioritize time and ideas. Just like my father once started: with a suitcase full of ideas, and look... they all turned out to be gold!'

Charlotte Lynggaard

INSPIRED BY FAUNA AND FLORA

Each jewel is designed by Ole and Charlotte, always inspired by nature, and then handcrafted by master goldsmiths in Ole Lynggaard's own Danish workshops. The most well-known and sought-after collections include the Shooting Star collection, the Lotus collection, the BoHo collection, the Elephant collection and the Snakes collection. Each one is a tribute to the beauty of nature.

So it started 60 years ago, after a trip to Cairo. Inspired by ancient Egypt, Ole Lynggaard designs a snake jewel for his wife Karin. It would take until 2012 before a complete Snakes collection was rolled out, but this gesture was the starting signal. Another milestone is the year 1991 and a trip to Tanzania. Here Ole gifts his wife the first elephant design with the handmade interchangeable jewelry clasp, which later became a classic in the permanent Elephant collection.

Four years earlier, daughter Charlotte had officially joined the company. Her style and elegance proved to be the perfect added value to put the jewelry house on the map worldwide.

Shapes, colors and materials from nature, as well as organic lines, have always been the inspiration for all the house's collections: Leaves, BoHo, Nature or Lotus... everything is by Charlotte. The rings, earrings and pendants from the Leaves collection consist of fine 'leaves' of 18 kt gold. This recognizable and iconic collection was first released in 2009 and is inspired by the 'Midnight Tiara', a showpiece within Ole Lynggaard's collections, which was specially designed for Princess Mary of Denmark. Since 2008, the brand has been the official supplier to the Danish royal family.

A VIEW OF THE COLLECTION

Closer to home you can discover the magic of Ole Lynggaard jewelry and their story at jeweler Bouverne. You will find a wide range of open rings, earrings, pendants and bracelets in 18 kt gold, often containing precious and semi-precious stones in calm colors.

For this end of the year, Ole Lyngaard introduces new jewelry from the Wild Rose Collection, consisting of jewelry made of rose petals and diamonds, and the Love Bands Collection.

'This playful yet elegant design is a wonder of charming details inspired by nature.'

WILD ROSE

The new Wild Rose earrings are made of 18 kt yellow gold and set with 44 white diamonds (0.44 ct) – €5,400.

As always with Ole Lynggaard, the jewelry is inspired by nature, in this case the flora, namely yellow-gold rose petals. The extremely detailed earrings depict the stamens of the wild rose, with 44 white diamonds in the heart as a symbol of new beginnings.

LOVE BANDS

With the latest Love Bands ring, Charlotte Lynggaard plays with different diamond sizes and as such created a fine piece of jewelry that subtly rotates around your finger. From every angle, the 18 kt gold ring dances and plays with the light, thanks to the random reflection of 33 different white diamond gemstones (0.90 – 1.00 ct). This Love Bands ring is available in 18 kt yellow gold, pink gold and white gold – €6,800
