Panerai Radiomir Quaranta Steel, between modernity and tradition

Panerai

The Steel models reinterpret the Radiomir Quaranta collection in a casual light, while bringing universal time to reign for modern-day watch enthusiasts.

A faithful homage to where it all began, the Radiomir Quaranta is the contemporary interpretation of the Maison's very first watch, allowing today's watch enthusiasts to revive the look of the legendary divers of the navy from the 1940s.

Both sober and imposing, the Radiomir Quaranta presents elements resolutely linked to its origins and appeals to connoisseurs who identify with the history and know-how of the brand. Iconic details and precision are reinvented in a collection that reflects the Italian elegance of the Maison's roots, where culture meets the prestigious technical know-how of instrument making.

The new Radiomir Quaranta Steel models come in three versions: with a white dial coated with beige Super‑LumiNova® and a brown strap (PAM01292), with a blue dial coated with white Super‑LumiNova® and a dark blue strap (PAM01293) and with a dark anthracite dial coated with beige Super‑LuminNova® and a black strap (PAM01294).

Taking signature details from the Radiomir Quaranta collection, the Steel watches feature a sunburst satin-finish sandwich dial that features indexes and numerals only at 12 and 6 o’clock and reflects light rays from the movement of the wrist, while Super‑LumiNova® s 'glows green in the dark.

The straps are also interchangeable with a selection of Panerai models available in a range of colors.

Quaranta, meaning forty in Italian, refers to the 40mm case size that constitutes the essence of the collection. This is a contemporary 47mm size adaptation of the original Radiomir edition made almost 80 years ago. At 10.15mm thick, the watch case is the thinnest in the entire Panerai range, providing a versatile silhouette suitable for all occasions and for everyone. Paired with a matte alligator strap, its conical crown, a signature element of the Radiomir collection, embodies minimalist, casual luxury that matches modern lifestyles.

Technical details include the P.900 caliber, a next-generation 4.2mm thick automatic movement, the first of this size from Panerai to include date and three days of power reserve, and water resistance to 5 bar (~50 meters).
